A
revolutionary new concept in bearings
The Sheedy bearing is a revolutionary new concept which
does away with the traditional ball and roller race.
It utilizes a state of the art plastic compound
combined with 316 stainless steel. The Sheedy
bearing design is interchangeable with most existing
bearings in the pillow block, flange, radial and cam
follower range.
The
Sheedy design
The Sheedy bearing is designed with
a 316 stainless (non-rusting) sleeve in an internal
locking collar combined with a split plastic sleeve.
Plastic
reinforced housings
Sheedy Bearings also make a range of plastic reinforced
housings, pillow block and 2 and 4 hole flanges. These
products like all our range of bearings have Department
of Primary Industry (Australian D.P.I.) approval for
use in production of food for the export and domestic
markets.

 Photo at left shows a conventional German-made
roller bearing (right of the photo) severely corroded
and seized after 21 days going up and down a track in
the Schweppes mineral water and fruit juice filler line.
The Australian made Sheedy bearing on the left
of the photo showed no sign of rust after 34 months
of continuous operation. It was replaced after
34 months because slight wear started to lead to overfilling.
The filling line was washed daily, after which
the conventional bearing needed lubrication. The
Sheedy bearing received no lubrication.
